- שְׁחַד(v. שוֹהַד) to win the favor of, bribe. Targ. Ez. 16:33. Targ. Job 6:22. Pa. שַׁחֵד same. Snh.43b שַחוּדֵי שַׁחֲדֵיה במילי he (Joshua) won him (Achan) over with persuasive words.
